[BEES Seminar] Life in Suspended Animation: The Evolutionary Ecology of Dormancy with Dr. Jay Lennon
April 5, 2025

As part of the BEES Seminar series, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Jay Lennon, Professor of Biology at Indiana University and Fellow of both AAAS and AAM, to the University of Maryland. Dr. Lennon studies the evolutionary ecology of microbes with a special focus on dormancy. His work intersects with a number of research efforts at UMD, including ongoing collaborations related to phage and spores.

In this seminar, Dr. Lennon will explore how dormancy influences microbial evolution, population dynamics, and ecosystem function. Join us from 10-11am on Monday, March 31st, for informal discussions with Dr. Lennon—with a BEES lunch to follow!
