Joshua Weitz received a new award from ‘Open Philanthropy’ to engage in collaborative work with University of Pennsylvania and Georgia Tech. The team will develop an interactive, data-driven map to visualize and communicate the economic impacts of proposed cuts to federal funding for scientific and medical research. Andreea Magalie was awarded the “QBioS Service Award” for her work building community and institutions within the Quantitative Biosciences program at Georgia Institute of Technology. Andreea founded and leads the QBioS Student Government Association, and started initiatives within QBioS that build community to highlight student accomplishments and improve student-advisor relationships.
Rogelio Rodriguez Gonzalez received the “Best Paper in Ecology and Evolution award” from the Georgia Institute of Technology, for his publication in mSystems.
